10 Worthy Foodgasmic Places To Eat While Visiting New York City

New York City has one of the highest concentrated restaurant and bar scenes in the world. It’s truly a foodie mecca. With so many options, where do you start? If you have friends that can show you around then that’s great, if not, don’t worry, I’ll help guide you in the right direction. I know most of my selection, if not all are Asian base cuisine but to be honest, I find them to be the most delicious and easiest food to eat and enjoy. So with out further ado’s, here is my list in no particular order:IMG_3982 IMG_3983 IMG_3984 IMG_3985 IMG_3986 IMG_3987 IMG_3989 IMG_3990 IMG_3992

  1. BaoHaus – 238 E 14th St (East Village)

What to order: Chairman Bao and Birdhaus Bao. It was definitely something small to munch on but full of flavors and textures. The braised pork belly in the Chairman Bao just melts in your mouth and the fried chicken was spot on. It’s a little messy to eat but definitely worth the lip-smacking, finger-licking aftermath It’s going to cost about $4 per bao but trust me, your mouth is going to thank you later. $

  1. Xi’an Famous Foods – 81 St Marks Pl (East Village)

What to order: Spicy Cumin Lamb Burger. This restaurant was featured on one of Anthony Bourdain’s show so, if he likes it, then you will like it. I would also recommend ordering the ox tail soup too but its kind of hard to eat it if you can’t find a seat. $

  1. Joe’s Shanghai – 9 Pell St (Chinatown)

What to order: Xiao Long Bao. It’s basically soup in a dumpling. The dumpling broth is very light but super tasty with a little pork meatball. It’s really hot so you have to be careful with it. There is a technique on how to eat xiao long bao. Don’t bit straight into it….trust me, you will burn your tongue. $

  1. Fatty Crab – 643 Hudson St (West Village)

What to order: Watermelon Pickle and Crispy Pork. Anything with pork belly is going to be amazing! It’s super refreshing with its herbs and sweet ginger. $$$

  1. The Halal Guys – 6th Ave & W 53rd St (Midtown West)

What to order: Combo with no veggies, extra meat, sauce on the side. There are so many halal food stands but only this place does it right. I think it’s the white sauce that they have that makes the meal even better. If you like it spicy have no fear they got you covered. Trust me, a little goes a long way. This is possibly the cheapest and most fulfilling meal you can get in NYC. $

  1. Laduree – 864 Madison Ave (Upper East Side)

What to order: Macarons. Hands down, the best place to get macarons in all of NYC. Yes it is expensive but totally worth it. It’s like biting into little crispy clouds….if that’s possible lol but seriously this place will ruin all other macaron shops. $$$

  1. Royce’ Chocolate – 509 Madison Ave (Midtown East)

What to order: Nama Chocolate “Maccha”. I have to admit I’m not a huge fan of dark chocolate or chocolate all together but this green tea chocolate is divine. It just melts in your mouth and makes you want to eat the whole box all in one setting. Its mild and creamy and oh so delicious. Yes it is expensive but totally worth it! $$$

  1. Cull & Pistol Oyster Bar – 75 Ninth Ave (Chelsea Market)

What to Order: We came here during “Happy Oyster Hour”. $1 per oyster…ummm yes please…how can you go wrong that that? I’m definitely not an oyster connoisseur but I do know what I like and they have a great selection of oyster and seafood. $$

  1. The Kati Roll Company – 99 MacDougal St (Greenwich Village)

What to Order: The Unda Aloo with a roti. It’s an easy snack to munch on if you’re on the go and it’s full of rich flavors. Plus it’s a cheap meal. $

10. New World Mall Food Court – 136-20 Roosvelt Ave (Flushing)

What to Order: Honestly, everything here is really good. You really can’t go wrong. Everything that I had tried was so scrumptious. If you’re not a big spice fan, you need to let them know because they sure do like their food spicy. When I come here for lunch, I usually get the silver bowl, where I get to choose my own stir fry lol I know that’s not very helpful but just follow the locals. There’s also a great dessert shop that you can’t miss out on. One thing to mention about this place is that it’s cash only. $
